On Golden Pond Themed Art Exhibit

The Academy of Fine Arts in Lynchburg, Virginia is presenting On Golden Pond, a themed exhibit featuring multi media by artist members. The exhibit runs from Oct 8th through Nov. 15th. Touching, funny & warmly perceptive, On Golden Pond is the story of a spirited and lovable elderly couple facing their twilight years. A visit leaves them with the "grandchild" they have always longed to have at their cottage, taking him fishing and learning about modern teenagers along the way. The movie version was a triple Academy Award-Winner.

The Pre-Veterinary Medical Association of Virginia Tech (Pre-Vet Club) will be holding their 14th Annual Community Pet Show on Sunday, April 18th, 2009. The Pet Show will be held at the Virginia Tech Alphin-Stuart Arena from 12 pm until 5 pm in Blacksburg, Virginia. Registration will be from 11:30am to 12pm . The Pet Show is the club's MOST IMPORTANT philanthropic event!!! All proceeds will be donated to St. Francis of Assisi Foundation - a service dog foundation that the club has worked with continuously.

This year features an elaborate Silent Auction featuring artwork by Pete Hellmann, pet supplies, and a Super Bowl XLIV football signed by numerous players from the Indianapolis Colts, just to name a few of the great things to buy!

C&A Camp, a new store in downtown Charlottesville, Virginia, is a cultural explosion waiting to be explored. The owner, Carlin Camp, has her favorite lipstick, the best netty pot, gardening supplies, Mexican treasures from her travels, antler shoe horns, Libeco linens and now photography by Pete Hellmann. Everything in the store has been hand picked (and in some cases carried home from buying trips abroad) by Carlin. She believes in Fair Trade and also donates 10% of her profits to a charitable foundation. Who knows what else you can find while you explore each corner of the store.

Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine, Richmond Camera and the Virginia Tourism Corporation cordially invite you to the gallery opening of the Capture Your Passion in Virginia Photography Show. Photographers and outdoor enthusiasts, including rural photographer Pete Hellmann, submitted their best images of the great outdoors of Virginia and the twenty best images have been selected for the show. Selected images will be on display on the evening of Friday, December 7th, 2007 starting at 7:00 pm. The event is hosted by Richmond Camera's gallery location at 215 West Broad Street in downtown Richmond, Virginia. The show will run through the month of December.

Pete Hellmann Receives Honors At New River Art 2007

New River Art 2007 is a juried exhibition of fine art from the New River Valley region of Virginia sponsored by the Blacksburg Regional Art Association. The show opened on Tuesday, October 30 and runs through December 7th at the Perspectives Gallery in Blacksburg, Virginia. The Perspectives Gallery is located in Squires Student Center on the campus of Virginia Tech. Rural Virginia photographer, Pete Hellmann, who is an alumnus of Virginia Tech, was honored with a special photography award during the exhibition reception which was held on Sunday November 4th from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. When asked about the show Pete stated, "It is an honor to be able to participate, let alone receive an award for my work. I'm just glad that I can give something back to the Virginia Tech community after the events of last spring. We are Virginia Tech and we will prevail." Works by rural Virginia photographer, Pete Hellmann, have been accepted in the ninth biennial juried art exhibition entitled New River Art 2007. The exhibition is sponsored by the Blacksburg Regional Center for the Arts, The Jacksonville Center for the Arts and the Fine Arts Center of the New River Valley.
