Do you do this, too? Collect interesting little things you find as you walk along? It’s hard not to, which is why this little maple seed pod (also called helicopters and whirlybirds) managed to come home with me. I placed it on a piece of antique Japanese paper, added a few other bits, and called it done. A nice, soft, interesting photograph of a small treasure I found on the ground on Whidbey Island in Washington state. I’ve also got a square version of this same image available.

I'm a photographer, writer, educator based on Whidbey Island in the Pacific Northwest, specializing in photomontage work, combining photos I've taken of rust, walls, peeling paint, birds, postage stamps, trees, etc. into images that are completely new, different, and often weird.
